How to play the Powerball lottery?
Here are the detailed steps in playing the Powerball lottery:
- Pick five numbers from 1 to 69 and one Powerball number from 1 to 26.
- Choose QP (Quick Pick) if you want the terminal to randomly pick the numbers for you.
- Add Power Play for $1 to increase non-jackpot prizes by 2, 3, 4, 5 or 10 times*.
- Select Multidraw to play next succeeding Powerball drawings. (Costs $2 per play per drawing.)
*Power Play X10 is only in play when the Powerball jackpot annuity value is $150 million or less.
A single Powerball play slip allows you to choose up to 5 sets of numbers. Each number combination costs $2.
Once done, keep the ticket in a safe place and then wait for the Powerball numbers to be drawn in the evening of the drawing date.
Players must purchase from a licensed lottery retailer at least one hour before drawing time.
For instance, a player who wishes to join the Powerball drawing for today must buy his ticket at least one hour before 10:59 pm Eastern Time tonight.
