How many numbers are needed to win a prize in Powerball?
Prizes await those who do not get all the numbers but still match the other numbers drawn by the machine.
The Powerball payout table below shows the prize that a player will get for each matching combination.
To win the bottom-tier prize of $4, you need to match the Powerball or one number plus the Powerball.
Matching three numbers or two numbers plus the Powerball gives you a $7 prize.
Tickets that match two numbers (white balls) will not earn any prize in Powerball. A ticket that matches only one number also has no corresponding prize.
The non-jackpot prizes are multiplied by the Power Play number drawn.
For example, a player who chose the Power Play option and matches four winning numbers plus the Powerball wins a total of $500,000 if the Power Play number is 5X.
